There wasn't a defeat to be had in Cliftonville colours this week with nine wins and one draw registered from all 10 sides in action over the last couple of days. The Under 14 South Belfast Youth League side's 2-2 stalemate with Solway Star proved the only exception as the Reds - from the seniors at Lisburn Distillery right down to the Under 12s' Cup date with Bertie Peacock Youth - clocked up victory after victory. The Olympic kicked things off with a 2-0 defeat of Distillery's second string on Friday evening; Neil Slane opening the scoring before what boss Michael Press described as "a towering header from Aaron Smyth" secured the points. Johnny McMurray was the star performer as Cliftonville Strollers overcame Ballymena United III in the Quarter Finals of the Harry Cavan Youth Cup. McMurray - who was named Man of the Match by sponsors Umbro in the competition's Tie of the Round - set the Wee Reds on their way and Conal McGrandles made it 2-0 ahead of goalkeeper James McConville saving a late penalty. The Under 17s remain level with Crusaders at the top of the table thanks to a 3-1 triumph over Warrenpoint Town with Conor Dougan, Tiarnan McNicholl and Sean McGowan all on target, while the Under 14s stayed top of the National League with a 2-1 defeat of Lisburn Youth - Clarke and Seacroft the scorers. Cormac Lawlor bagged a brace and Caolan Boyd struck once in the Under 13 National League side's 3-1 win away to Ballinamallard Youth and their South Belfast Youth League colleagues were 8-2 victors over Stone Bridge - Jamie McCormack, Chrissy Lavery, Stevie Kane, Ethan Gibson, Rio Holland, Pearse McImail scoring one apiece in addition to Darrach McLarnon's double. The Under 12 South Belfast Youth League side, meanwhile, enjoyed a 4-1 win against Lisburn Wanderers and their National League counterparts booked their progress to the Third Round of the NIBFA Under 13 Cup thanks to a superb 7-1 success against Bertie Peacock Youth thanks to a hat-trick from Adam McParland and four from Matthew Shannon.
