| Cliftonville Strollers lost to Ards Colts with the last kick of the ball in this evening's Youth League Cup Final at Dixon Park, Ballyclare. The Reds had an early chance to take the lead when Chris Saunders was felled in the area but, after picking himself up to take the penalty, he saw his kick superbly saved by Jason Mooney. Saunders' evening was to get worse when he was sent-off for an off-the-ball |
| incident midway through the second-half. The Young Reds battled on valiantly, however, and looked set for Extra Time when Ards stole it through Thomas Gorman deep into injury-time. No sooner had the tie re-started than the referee's whistle had blown to signal the most heartbreaking of finishes for the Strollers. |
